Hernán Cortés

Hernán Cortés was of the vicious kind to say the least. As a Spanish Conquistador he led the expedition that caused the entire Aztec empire to fall. Covered in armour and mounted on a horse, he made the Aztecs believe he was an emissary of the great feathered snakegod Quetzalquatl. Furthermore and with the help of native American tribes and an overwhelming warmachine of 600 footmen, 15 horsemen and 15 cannons, he wiped the Aztec crown city Tenochtitlan (a city twice as big and majestic as Rome) of the face of the earth.

Imperial Outpost

Near the borders of the Empire lies a stronghold which functions not only as the first line of defense against the barbarians that lurk beyond the border, but is also the favorite outpost of the Emperor. The stronghold is almost entirely surrounded by mountains through which a tunnelsystem leads from and to the Empire. Furthermore it houses an enormous church, luxury quarters for visiting kings, and a tree of life: symbol of order, and the perfect lookout for Elven scouts.

Little Red Werewolf Huntress

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a village near the forest. Whenever she went out, the little girl wore a red riding cloak and slaughtered Werewolves, so everyone in the village called her Little Red Werewolf Huntress.

The Well Of A Thousand Words

The Well Of A Thousand Words is an animated short about a society that thrives and survives on telling stories that come from a well in their town. It tells the tale of a young boy who feels he doesn't belong in that society, who doesn't believe in the power of stories and who in a fit of rage makes the well stop producing stories. As a result, the elder of the town gets sick and the boy sets out on a journey to restore the source of the stories and save the elder and the town.

Above are some of the scenes that were used in the film. Feel free to head on over to www.thewellofathousandwords.com, to watch the movie or read the making of!

Goblin Shepherd

While Goblins aren't all that smart, they often have the advantage in combat because of the large packs they travel in. Vile and brutal as they are, they easily outnumber their opponents with their masses. However, because they mostly act before they think, they often get slaughtered by the smarter adversary. At least that was untill a shepherd found them and transformed them into a herd that has the tactical advantage of a smart leader and the brutal force of a pack of crazed bloodhounds.

In The Mind Of A Robot

I wanted to do a Steampunk-style portrait for some time, but I never got around to actually doing it. The reason for that is that I didn't have a clue of what I exactly wanted to portray. Eventually I just started working on a face and the rest of it came to me while I was working on it. Lots of ideas past through (like an airpressured flamethrower and or a robotic ladybug) but for some reason the little robot just felt right.

I'm planning to do an in dept tutorial on the making of this illustration, but I'm still trying to find a publisher/website for it. I'll keep you posted!

Wildlife Levitator

Living in the wild can be a perilous occupation. Good thing Wildlife Levitators are always just around the corner to get the endangered critters out of harms way. Hopping from thicket to thicket they relocate the animals to a safer haven.
